Interview mit mYm.crayOn
15. Oktober 2007 RoMpErBei gamereplays.org gabs es ein sehr interessantes Interview mit dem koreanischen Spieler mYm.crayOn. Hier ist es :
GameReplays: I see you play for Meet Your Makers. What’s it like playing for one of the largest and most recognized clans in all of e-sports?
mYm.crayOn:At first I did not know mYm is the largest clans in all of e-sports, because mYm clan was more like wc3 to me. However, I saw their effort on Starcraft part and luckily they decided to invite me when I was interested to join some clan on Europe. I’m glad I can be part of one of largest clan on European scene and I will have a lot of fun.
GameReplays:I am sure you have been following the development of Starcraft 2. What are your general impressions on how it is shaping up and do you plan on playing it professionally when it’s released?
mYm.crayOn:Of course I’m going to try/play sc2 when the game comes out. I’m really expecting the StarCraft 2, but from so much news about Starcraft 2 I kind of disappointed by their graphic because there are just too much. However it’s just my opinion, no one actually knows how Starcraft 2 will be till it comes out. I’m just glad they actually are making Starcraft 2 finally haha.
GameReplays:From our staff that attended BlizzCon here at GameReplays, we hear that in many ways, the interface has been simplified compared to the original. What are your thoughts on these simplifications?
mYm.crayOn:Hm, I actually never heard about this. Personally I think original was more simplifier to play with it because there were less units than brood war.
GameReplays:Most of the readers here do not speak Korean. On the same line of thought as the last question, what has the general consensus among Koreans been, about simplification of the game.
mYm.crayOn:This is very flash questions I ever got. As I mentioned in preview question, that’s probably what most Koreans think of.
GameReplays:What would you really like to see in Starcraft 2 that isn’t already in StarCraft in terms of gameplay elements and dynamics? Do you a want faster game pace, larger scale macro, greater capability to perform breathtaking micromanagement feats or whatever?
mYm.crayOn: Hm, I think Starcraft is too perfect right now. It is actually the most balanced game except I think Terran is bit too strong. wink.gif. This is why people are so worrying about Starcraft 2, because Starcraft was just too sexy game compare to any other. Hopefully, blizzard will not disappoint us for sc2.
GameReplays:Do you think Koreans will be as involved in Starcraft 2 as they were with the original? Why or why not, based on your understanding of Korean culture.
mYm.crayOn:Korean’s actually said that, they will have both leagues for Starcraft and Starcraft 2. Starcraft is like big sport is Korea, and even Starcraft 2 comes out I’m sure many people will still play on it.
GameReplays:What are your thoughts on the relationship between Macro and Micro in Starcraft 2? Do you like what you have heard?
mYm.crayOn:Actually I haven’t focused on macro and micro in Starcraft 2, but I like the way it is in Starcraft so hopefully they won’t change too much with it.
GameReplays: Do you feel that Blizzard could fill the gap of “dumbed down macro” by creating more interesting exciting abilities for units and buildings?
mYm.crayOn:Well I feel like they are focusing on units more than macro, I just hope that they will not make Starcraft as Warcraft.
GameReplays: Thanks for taking the time to speak with us crayOn. Perhaps we can talk again at a later point.
